FAQ – REIKI

Frequently Asked Questions   –   REIKI

  1. What is Reiki?

Pronounced Ray-Key, it is a Japanese word which means Universal Life Force Energy. Although I prefer to describe it as that which embodies the awareness and wilful command of the life enhancing energy which surrounds us. Derived from Raku Kei, it is a powerful tool for self realisation as well as a system of natural healing. Rediscovered in ancient Buddhist scriptures, it was brought to the west in the early part of this century. Techniques whereby self realisation could more easily be achieved were made available in a more accessible form by the endeavors of Mika Usui, a Buddhist who later became known as Usui Sensei (or teacher). He lived in Kyoto, Japan. This system, given the name Reiki, was brought to the west by Hawayo Takata in the late 1940’s. Today Reiki continues to be taught by Reiki Masters who have been trained in the traditions passed down from master to student. There is no belief system associated with Reiki- anyone can receive (or learn to give) Reiki healing, the only prerequisite is the desire to be healed. Animals and plants will also benefit from Reiki.

  1. Where does Reiki energy come from?
  2. Reiki energy is a subtle energy. It is different than electricity or chemical energy or other kinds of physical energy. Reiki energy comes from the Higher Power, which exists on a higher dimension than the physical world we are familiar with. When viewed clairvoyantly, Reiki energy appears to come down from above and to enter the top of the practitioners head after which if flows through the body and out the hands. It appears to flow this way because of our perspective. However, the true source of Reiki energy is within ourselves. This does not mean that we use our personal energy when we do Reiki, but that the energy is coming from a transcendental part of ourselves that is connected to an infinite supply of healing energy.
  3. Is Reiki a Religion?

Although Reiki is a pure energy, more of balancing & spiritual in nature. Reiki is not a religion. Spirituality is natural, connecting back to the nature that’s our roots; while Religion is man made. Practitioners are free to continue believing anything they choose and are encouraged to make their own decisions concerning the nature of their religious practices.

  1. What are the benefits of Reiki?

Reiki is a miraculous healing system. It is available for everyone but its exact benefit depends on the patient and the Healer. In general, most people find Reiki system sessions deeply relaxing—whether in body, mind, or spirit. Reiki accelerates the body’s natural healing processes in trauma situations, and supports general prevention and wellness. Regular Reiki sessions can help reduce stress, alleviate or ease pain, improve immune system functioning, calm emotional distress, soothe mental disturbance, as well as enhance clarity and creativity. Many people choose Reiki sessions to facilitate their personal and spiritual growth.

  1. What conditions will Reiki Treat?

Not only is Reiki beneficial for chronic conditions but also for acute conditions. It is also a valuable first aid tool. Regular (self) treatments are an excellent way of boosting the immune system. It should be remembered that Reiki is primarily a method for self-development through regular self-treatment.

It is important that Reiki is not considered as a substitute for other prescribed therapies, rather it should be viewed as complementary to them. If in doubt, consult your general practitioner who may actually refer you to a complementary therapist.

  1. How does Reiki work?

Let us use an analogy; that of yourself as a discharged (re-chargeable!) battery. The Reiki practitioner simply enables the trickle charge from the ‘cosmic battery charger’ that we all draw upon every second of every day, to be boosted to supercharge. Like the battery, you will only draw the energy required, be it for a top-up charge or a full recharge. It is important to remember that the energy comes from the battery charger namely the life force energy that surrounds us all, and not from the practitioner facilitating this.

Reiki will always work for not only your highest good, but also for the highest good of the practitioner, although this may not always be in accordance with your or the practitioners expectations. Sometimes the effects are too subtle to be apparent, especially for those who are relatively healthy or otherwise not showing any outward symptoms of disease.

  1. What does a full Reiki treatment involve?

A Reiki treatment is often described as a ‘laying on of hands’ although it is not necessary for the practitioner to actually touch you, and because it is a non intrusive therapy, you can remain fully clothed throughout the treatment (except shoes and any heavy jewelry). Whilst Reiki can be given to you in any comfortable position, for example sitting in a chair, it is usual to lay covered on a healing table, whilst healing energy is drawn through the practitioner via a number of hand positions to both the back and front of your body. For the treatment it is recommended that you wear warm but loose fitting clothing.

Prior to your first treatment, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and to find out more about Reiki, after which there will be a consultation in which you will be invited to describe not only your manifest symptoms, but any underlying cause that you feel may be significant, since Reiki works on the mental and emotional levels in addition to the physical. You are advised that Reiki can often reduce the required dosage of prescription drugs. This has been particularly noted in the case of diabetics and their insulin requirements.

It should be noted that unless medically qualified a Reiki practitioner is unable to make clinical diagnosis.

  1. Can Reiki be scientifically proven?

Reiki cannot be measured, that is quantified or qualified. You cannot determine its wavelength (for instance), spectroscopically or with any other measuring instrument. You cannot deliver 100 Usui’s of Reiki as you would 100 lux of light, or 100 Watts of electricity !

What can be measured to varying degrees is the relative interaction of Reiki energy with a living system, however that of course is subjective. Changes in the energy field may also be observed using Kirlian photography.  Changes can be observed below a Reiki master’s fingertip before and after giving Reiki.

Science is also accepting the fact that the human energy field exists and research has been conducted in this field. Changes in hemoglobin and hematocrit levels have been measured during Reiki healing, these are presented in the book “Healing Research” by Dr. J J Benor

  1. Can Reiki do any harm?

Under no conditions can Reiki energy do any harm, unless you allow negative energies. However if the Practitioner uses it with wrong intention, it might not work right.

  1. What happens in a Reiki session?

Reiki sessions are commonly structured in three segments—initial consultation, hands-on segment, and concluding consultation or follow-up.

The length and content of the consultation at the beginning and at the conclusion of a session vary from practitioner to practitioner. The hands-on portion of a session is given on a massage table with sheets, coverings, pillows, and bolsters for client comfort. The atmosphere of the treatment room is typically enhanced with music and special lighting. Clients always remain fully clothed.

There are two basic styles of administering Reiki system sessions or treatments depending upon the training the practitioner received: (1) the practitioner follows the same protocol of hand positions in every session, or (2) the practitioner intuitively combines protocols and techniques, and the hands-on portion is different from session to session.

  1. What will I experience during a treatment?

During the treatment, you may experience any one of a number of sensations, from warmth to a feeling of cold, from tingling sensations to sometimes…. nothing at all ! This does not mean that you have not been drawing Reiki energy. Every experience in life is unique and personal. Most recipients however experience a very pleasant feeling, often described as one of total relaxation. Your treatment will usually last around 1 hour.

  1. What does Reiki feel like?

Your experience can differ from session to session. Sensations that you may feel in, on or around your body while receiving a Reiki session are heat, coolness, tingling, pulsation, wave-like movement or flow. Healing responses during a Reiki treatment may include kinesthetic reactions in your body, emotional release, or an increase in the activity of your thoughts. You may experience a sense of uplifting and spiritual connection.

  1. Are other healing arts, tools or implements part of Reiki sessions?

Not if it’s a genuine Reiki session. Although many Reiki practitioners are experienced in other healing arts, if the session includes or incorporates other healing arts, tools or implements, this should be clearly communicated to you verbally, as well as on a website or in any promotional materials. You can also simply ask if they combine other healing arts with Reiki—and to ensure that your session is a dedicated Reiki treatment, specifically request that of the practitioner.

  1. Is Reiki used with other practices?

Elements of Reiki hands-on practice, rather than full sessions, are often combined with psychotherapy, massage therapy, many bodywork and movement modalities, chiropractic, acupuncture and other traditional non-traditional health care.  In personal practice, the Reiki system if often used in conjunction with meditation, yoga and other spiritual practices, as well as for self-care, and with family and friends.

  1. Who can learn Reiki?

Anyone can learn the Reiki System—the entry level of training is open to anyone. As someone progresses in their personal practice of Reiki, they may decide to go on to professional and/or public practice. A few will go on to become full-time Reiki teachers, in addition to maintaining a personal, professional, and public practice.

  1. Are there differences in Reiki training?

Standards and length of training vary widely in Reiki—there is no one national or international standard of training recognized by all schools or teachers. Since standards very from school to school, teacher to teacher, titles such as “Reiki Master” may be the same, but the standard of training can be quite different.

  1. Can one feel the difference between different Reiki systems?

Both healers and recipients alike often state that “you can feel the difference”. In reply I would point out that this is subjective appraisal, and should not be seen as a gauge of the amount drawn, nor by any stretch of the imagination, the ‘quality’ of the energy. Depending on skin pigmentation, different people exposed to sunlight for the same time may have very different experiences. They may feel an immediate warmth and reddening of the skin, feel nothing other than a pleasant sensation, or alternatively may experience sunburn some time later. The healing experienced during a Reiki treatment may be similarly described, however you cannot get sunburn or even a tan from Reiki !

  1. What are the steps of Reiki system training?

All Reiki system trainings include Reiki 1, Reiki 2 and Reiki Master. Some trainings have additional levels, such as Advanced Reiki or Advanced Practitioner after Reiki 2 and before Reiki Master. Reiki Master training is sometimes divided into two or more levels, such as Reiki Master Practitioner and Reiki Master Teacher. There are three general approaches to training in Reiki: (1) an individual apprenticeship with a teacher, (2) structured program with coursework and requirements, and (3) programs that combine structure, coursework and requirements with individualized mentoring.

  1. What is a Reiki attunement?

A Reiki attunement is a ritual performed by a Reiki Master Teacher through various steps, by which a person receives the ability to give Reiki treatments. The attunement is administered by the Reiki Master during the Reiki class, he connects to special energies guided by the Higher Power and make adjustments in the students energy pathways and connect the student to the source of Reiki, while opening various Chakras of the student for the energy to flow. He might touch the students head, shoulders, and hands and use one or more special breathing techniques, also does energetic placement of Reiki symbols through a specific set of sequenced actions into the student’s Crown chakra and minor Chakras (palms & leg sole). Because the energetic aspect of the attunement is guided by the Higher Power, it adjusts itself to be exactly right for each student.  Each session could be a unique depending on the student and the guidance being received from the higher level. During the attunement, some students feel warmth in the hands, others may see colors or have visions of spiritual beings. However, it is not necessary to have an inner experience for the attunement to have worked. Most simply feel more relaxed.

  1. What will I experience after a Reiki Attunement?

During session, you might feel the vibration & heat, however it depends on your sensitivity level. You may experience a detoxification lasting several days, you can feel dehydrated after the session or feel more thirst for few days, so it is advisable to drink plenty of water.

Ask yourself beforehand ‘Is there anything else that I want to gain from Reiki attunement’?  If you have any problem, tell ne before the session so I can help for those issues as well while attuning.

  1. What if my hands don’t feel hot?

Experiencing hot hands is a common experience reported by Reiki practitioners. However, each person’s experience with Reiki is unique. You may not experience hot hands, so don’t look for it as verification that Reiki is flowing through them.

  1. Can I do reiki during my periods?

Yes, you can. Reiki is not restricted by anything.

  1. What is the purpose of the Reiki hand placements and how should I continue?

Hands placement are the basic means of – making the higher energy flow to different parts of your body, cleanse it and balance the energy in your entire system. Emphasis is placed on devoting 2-5 minutes on each hand placement so that no part of the body is neglected and to ensure that each body part is given equal consideration.

Newly attuned Reiki Level I practitioners will benefit from doing full-body sessions daily for the first three to six weeks. After those first weeks, for those who doesn’t have any issue and their energy balance is fine – a Chakra self-treatment would be enough  with one or two full-body self-treatments each week. After practicing these hand placements in the taught sequences for a period of time, you will likely deviate from them to some degree and begin to acquire your own methodology in placing your hands on your body while listening to your inner dialogue.

  1. Why did I start crying during my Reiki treatment or Attunement?

Occasionally a person will experience an intense emotional release during or after a Reiki treatment. These types of emotional release may be expressed through crying, screaming, coughing, vomiting, or other reactions. Emotional releases help carry the person through the hurts and discomforts associated with the feelings that arise during a Reiki session, so should be suppressed by controlling but let it go, your teacher should be kind and knowledgeable enough to handle and cleanse underneath problems. However any deep suppressed issue can take little long or repeated healing session for complete healing.

  1. Will Reiki ever run out?

When you are giving a Reiki treatment to someone, you are giving of your time and your intent to assist, but you are not giving away any of your own energy. In fact as a medium you also get benefitted as Reiki passes through you. Reiki is in infinite supply. It never runs out.

  1. Does Reiki work for bad or wrong intentions?

Reiki is not a magic or tantra or any occult power, it’s a pure energy. Its more of a balancing energy than a mere positive or negative energy. Therefore, reiki does not work for either good or bad intentions. When you send reiki to someone, it helps them progress and brings balance into their lives, irrespective of your intentions. Even if your intentions are good, reiki might do just the opposite if that is what is good for that person in the long run.

  1. What does it feel like to give a treatment?

When giving a Reiki treatment, the Reiki energy flows through the practitioner before leaving the hands and flowing into the client. Because of this, the practitioner receives a treatment also. As the Reiki energy flows through the practitioner, she/he will feel more relaxed and uplifted. Spiritual experiences sometimes take place. The practitioner sometimes receives insights about what the client needs to know to heal more deeply.

  1. Can you tell me about the different Reiki healing systems advertised?

In addition to the traditional Usui system there are many other Reiki healing systems being taught, some are recognized as root systems in their own right, whilst there are many that are colored to varying degrees by the ego’s of their proponents, and thus have attracted somewhat pretentious names.

The following are those root types currently known and taught in around the world:

  • Usui Reiki – The original form started by Dr Mikao Usui
  • Kundalini Reiki
  • Karuna Reiki
  • Ascension Reiki
  • Tera Mai Reiki
  • Angel Reiki
  • Seichim and Sekhem – of Ancient Egyptian origin.
  • Rainbow Reiki
  • Tibetan Reiki
  • Reiki Jin Kei Do – Buddhist
  • Men Chhos Reiki – Buddhist
  • Seichem – not to be confused with Seichim
  • Reiki Grand Master (level 4-18)

It should be stated that whilst each and every system has its own merits, the healing energy is all drawn from the same source.

  1. Why are there so many Reiki Healing Systems?

If we are discerning regards contemporary healing systems, dismissing those peddlers of ‘gamma ray key with additional symbols flags whistles and bells, then throughout history there have been a number of core healing systems attracting different labels. These systems and their associated symbols were appropriate for the root races living at the time, each serving the same purpose, namely that of healing.

Lets understand through some examples: 1) Let us consider more about water. You might have water in a bowl at room temperature and watch it take different forms such as being frozen, or turning into steam, or condensation. No matter what it appears to be, it is still water. 2) Compare the different languages spoken across the planet, and their respective alphabets (symbols). Is Greek any better than Japanese or English for communicating? Accepted, it may seem that some are more complex and difficult to learn, whilst others are more expressive, however they serve the same function – communication!

Similar healing modalities can be considered to be dynamic, constantly evolving to meet our needs. This may in part account for the recent emergence in the west of contemporary Reiki systems with additional symbols to be used in conjunction with the Usui system of Reiki healing.

Of course, the difference is in the way the energy can be expressed by the healer rather than any difference inherent in the energy of the contemporary healing systems themselves. In other words, whilst the energy behind each and every one of these healing systems is essentially the same, it is the frequency of the healer / channel that affects the outcome, which also includes that which may or may not be experienced at the time of healing.

  1. In what aspects overall can a Reiki training help me?
  • Reiki was mainly started 1st as a Spiritual and self-development technique, while later on the healing was more focused.
  • You will learn how to connect to a peaceful, healing energy with ease.
  • You learn how to apply the Reiki energy to help you relax, relieve stress and pain.
  • It will be easier to become calm at times you feel anxious, worrisome, or afraid.
  • Your intuition, awareness, and spiritual perceptive abilities may be enhanced.
  • You may become more aware and aligned with your life purpose
  • You will learn how to help yourself with physical, mental and emotional issues
  • You will learn how to keep your energy strong at all times. This is especially helpful if you feel others “drain” your energy, or if you empathically “pick up” issues from others.
  • You will learn how to help other people with all of the same points.

  1. How are Reiki Teacher and Student related?

We feel that being attuned to Reiki is a very important step in one’s life, and should never be forced upon someone. There is an old adage, “When the pupil is ready, the Master will come.” Spiritual energies can’t be forced, people are drawn to Reiki when it feels right for them. It’s Reiki who choose us and not the reverse. Again, the intent of the teacher, his/her experience and understanding of the subject as well as his/her ability to teach will vary considerably.

It is also a two – way process, in so much that not only does the student learn from the Reiki teacher, but the teacher also learns from the student. It’s Reiki who guide you to a teacher suitable as per you (according to your energy, requirement and life) once the energy frequency matches or your frequency needs to be as per your Master’s energy. There could be many highly qualified teachers; while some may be just the right teacher for you, one might be perfect and others may not have the right energy for your needs. Often the teacher would be someone who not only guide you on your life-changing long journey but also able to help you in resolving your problems. I feel this is why aspiring students are drawn to particular teachers.

  1. Can anyone learn Reiki?

Virtually anyone can learn Reiki, even young children. Once attuned, Reiki is with you for life irrespective of how often you choose to use it. The process can neither be lost of reversed.

  1. What is the difference between a Reiki Master and a Reiki Teacher?

Reiki Master is the one who is attuned to the Level- III of Reiki, a step ahead of Level-II. It allows you to connect, draw and use unlimited energy and use from anywhere to anyone; allows you to tap to work at very high magnitude or in other words at a multiple of what you can use after Reiki level-II. You learn 2 variants of the Master symbol.

Reiki Teacher is again one step ahead of Master, where you will learn one extra symbol and would be able to initiate or attune others into the Reiki. Now there are different practices, some term Master as 3A and Teacher as 3B and treat them as separate levels in training; while for some others it’s just level 3. In my opinion, both are fine and one should follow as guided by the higher self or Reiki Master.

  1. What now, after I learned Reiki ?

1st Congratulations! You certainly had something special about you that made Reiki choose you to enlighten yourself and help others.

2nd Reiki Level- I is all that many people desire, once trained at this level, you can treat yourself, friends, family and animals. Additional training is available however, for those who wish to extend or to go more deeply into their practice. Now you can follow any or all  of the following paths – own spiritual development, treating self or other of any physical ailment or emotional trauma or just treating any issues or developing oneself or others you like. However an all-round treatment at all 4 levels (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual) is what recommended, this is the only (or a rare) system that can do so, then why not use this rare opportunity!

And lastly, I’m working on a Reiki community that’ll allow all practitioners of the group to join hands and pass this wonderful gift or the benefit of this wonderful gift not only to other but also help each other in all times like a family. This could really be a good start of the vision that I see. I careful choose the people I attune, guided by the higher one, and hence feel really connected to those I attuned or even treated; plus Reiki makes a relation between a teacher and student at such a higher self that you’re bound to feel the oneness. I welcome you to be a part of the community, you can approach me anytime. It’s a lifelong beautiful journey of learning & development, to be experienced.

  1. What can I expect when receiving distance healing?

Much the same as when you have a hands-on session. You may feel heat, cold or tingling. Emotions may surface, e.g. old memories etc. Should this happen just relax and let the energies flow where they are most needed, as they will try to balance your system and remove any blockages.  Distance healing sessions are powerful and effective and are usually shorter, often 20-30 minutes.

  1. Why are there so different fees system ?

There can be differences of fees for Reiki classes depending on various factors- place, Reiki system, Teacher’s view towards fees, training level etc. The fees charged mostly reflect the Master’s beliefs about spirituality and money, however there are some limitations. For example- Some people consider it inappropriate asking money for something spiritual; others however believe that an exchange of some sort is important, for the student to value what they receive.

Dr Usui himself forbidden to teach or provide Reiki treatment free of cost, he insists that there should be some sort of exchange, and as his lineage we must follow our Teacher (it applies to all because then only you’ll be able to utilize the gift given by him/her). To take this point further, I also believe that the fees should be appropriate so that the patient must feel their contribution and at the same time must not feel the burden to pay, hence in Ideal world the fee should vary as per the person’s status and capability but that’s not practically possible; hence looking at the location and people around plus own situation, one must wisely & ethically set the fees.

While Reiki is available free, the Practitioner has the right to change fees for his time & effort; after all he/she needs to live and maintain himself so as to keep serving others as well. This commitment can again be used for a student to work for or save the course fee as an element of the spiritual practice, and an inherent contributor to the student’s growth.

  1. How many Reiki sessions are required for treatment?

In treatment, whilst some conditions will respond to a single treatment, there are others (for instance those of chronic or long term nature) which may require a succession of treatments, usually at weekly intervals, before significant improvements are realized. It is important to keep in mind that a Reiki session always heals in some way, in body, mind and spirit and a full-body treatment brings energy systems into balance. The effects of the healing are cumulative and therefore it follows that the more often one receives a Reiki session, the more in-balance and healthier one will be.  One will begin to notice some improvement after the first session. Long-standing health issues are usually cleared up in five to six visits. Disease generally begins in the energy field so if we keep our subtle bodies healthy using Reiki and our physical bodies healthy with good nutrition and exercise, we should be able to remain active and whole.

There is not really a set number of sessions because every person and his or her problem is different. Some people may only require one or two sessions, while others need several. Chronic conditions will benefit from Reiki but require repeated sessions for an improvement to be seen, usually 4-6 weeks, which will then allow energy to build up within the body. This not only treat but also maintain your body. I recommend monthly sessions to facilitate and support your good health!

  1. Can Reiki help victims of black magic?

Yes it can. Reiki offers protection against all kinds of negative energies, and that includes black magic, the ‘evil eye’ (what we call nazar or drishti) and harmful spirits.

  1. What is the difference between healing and curing?

If you look up the two words in a dictionary you will probably find that they mean more or less the same. In real life we seem to have given the two words slightly different interpretations. Healing is when you go to the root of the problem and restore the body’s balance. Curing is what is normally considered done when you actually remove the problem (but maybe not the cause).

When you have surgery you can remove the “sick” organ or tissue but this might not solve the problem as the procedure often does not solve the underlying problem. One can also be healed but not cured, i.e. your body is in balance but you still have a medical problem.

  1. Can I treat people under medication ?

Reiki works alongside every medical system and alternative therapies. It is a non-invasive therapy which increases the immunity of the patient, increase & balance their energy, and helps reduce the side effects of medicines. It can be used along with any other system, whether allopathy, ayurveda, homeopathy, aromatherapy, yoga, meditation, and others.

  1. Are Reiki treatments & Practice safe for pregnant women, children and babies?

While a Pregnant women can practice or be treated by Reiki, babies & children can receive Reiki treatments very safely. In fact, in many experience, I’ve seen when a pregnant mom receives a Reiki treatment, her unborn baby enjoys the caring healing energy and is later seen as very energetic or intelligent child. The energy from Reiki will naturally adjust to a client’s needs, as Reiki is guided by the God-Consciousness.

  1. Can I give treatments when I am I’ll?

When you yourself isn’t well, treating others isn’t advised. It is your bodies signal for you to rest and re balance. A valuable lesson in any Therapists journey is to ensure first you give to yourself and then you have plenty to give to others. When you feel depleted then it is better for yourself and your client to postpone the treatment until you are normal again or direct them to find help elsewhere.

  1. Why do I or someone feel it as more mystic?

Reiki increases your sensitivity to energies, sometimes to both positive & negative. Hence spiritual development is stressed on, so you ask for right energies. Because of our unawareness or fear within, sometimes we feel uncomfortable even with good energies, just because it’s a stranger yet

  1. Will Reiki work even if I don’t believe in it sometimes?

Reiki is not faith healing. It works even if you are giving reiki without any faith. So experiment with everything irrespective of whether you have faith or not. Many times skeptic reiki channels are quite surprised with the results!

  1. Is Certification given for Reiki training ?

Certification is usually given as recognition of accomplishment at each level of training; however, requirements for certification vary from teacher to teacher, school to school.

  1. What is a Lineage ?

The lineage is the unbroken chain of master teachers from your initiating master back to the founder of Reiki, Dr Mikao Usui. Without this lineage a Master Teacher cannot be authorised to teach Usui Shiki Ryoho, the Usui method of Reiki. Most Western Reiki Masters trace their lineage back through Hawayo Takata and Chujiro Hayashi.

  1. What are the legalities of practicing Reiki ?

Legalities vary from state to state, but most states do not require a license or registration for the following reasons: the Reiki system is spiritual healing, has no known contra-indications, Reiki practitioners do no diagnose, and recipients of Reiki remain fully clothed.

  1. Where can I learn more about Reiki?

There is a wealth of information available about Reiki on the Internet. There are also several good books available about Reiki, should you wish to know more you can get recommendations to read. However, If you’re getting trained by me, this note is as comprehensive and you shouldn’t require any other book, depending on your level of Reiki training.

  1. How about support after the Class ?

Yes. Reiki is a wonderful tool and a lifetime experience. It creates a channel between the student, teacher and the Reiki itself. It’s not a one time tool that you took and later need not think, it’s start of a long journey. Hence I personally encourage teacher & student contact, plus also any Reiki community or group.

  1. Why is Reiki called “smart energy”?

Reiki is an intelligent energy because it knows which areas of the body most need healing and will automatically flow to specific areas where suffering or imbalance are prevalent.

  1. Disclaimer about Reiki:

The Reiki system enhances the natural healing processes of the body-mind continuum. It is not a replacement for any treatment prescribed by a doctor, licensed health care practitioner, or mental health professional. However, it supports and can accelerate such prescribed treatment.
